Registration Process
To re-certify, referees must first
Register online, then take one of the classes offered.
Referees should receive their Referee Renewal
Information letters from the US Soccer in October-November.
If you have a USSF ID and remember your Userid/Password and have
identified a class that you wish to attend, you can register online also
before you receive the letter from US Soccer.
Important:
do not register unless you have identified a class that you can
attend.
Registration Steps
1.
To register for a class now, hold the SHIFT KEY and click
https://www.ussoccer.info/ to open a new
window and keeping these instructions on a separate window
A) as USER ID use your USSF ID preceded by the letter R
(as in Referee)
unless you have changed your
USER ID, in which case you will use the changed userid
or the USERID that you have
received from USSF or the Registrar
B) as Password use your lastname
unless you have changed your
Password, in which case you will use that password
or the Password that you have
received from USSF or the Registrar
Note: do not create a new userid and password if you
already have one as you will create a duplicate;
if you do not remember your
password or userid or USSF ID, follow the directions on the initial screen.
2. Click Referee on left menu to
see direction for Michigan Referees
3. Click the message "Click here to
apply for your Registration"
after a while you will see your "Biographical Information"
followed by a "Register As" box; you will see the "Referee" box checked,
if not check it. (note, if you cannot check the Referee box, that means
that you are already registered for the current year; if you try to
register for a Bridge class within 12 months from you Entry class, see
Registration Help #2 for details).
4. Look for a list of classes, when you see that one you are interested
in, then click the button to the left to select it.
Note: If you cannot find the class that you saw in
www.MSYSAreferee.net or if you
cannot see any classes at all, then DO NOT CONTINUE, instead go to the
bottom of the page and click "Cancel" then try again. If you obtain the
same result and you are sure that your class is published at the
www.MSYSAreferee.net website,
then contact

5. Answer the Conviction question by clicking the appropriate box

click Continue to complete the Payment

You will receive a "Referee Registration Payment
Acknowledgement" email right after your registration:
SAVE your Payment Acknowledgement email in your email log as it may be necessary
if you need to switch classes later on. Also,
please print
a copy of the Payment Acknowledgement (PA) and bring it to the class that you
registered for. If your PA shows your class name and
address, you
are all set, otherwise contact
MichiganRegistrar@gmail.com immediately
NOTE: The statement
in the Payment Acknowledgement
that says "Your State will review your application and approve.
Upon approval you will receive an e-mail
notification and shortly thereafter, a Referee
Packet via 1st class mail from U.S. Soccer."
does not apply to Michigan referees.
To be clear, you will not receive any "Referee Packet"
until a month
after you have completed and passed the class.
Again, SAVE (do not delete) the Payment
Acknowledgement email in case you need to switch classes.
Risk Management
Students 18 or older before January 1 will be required to complete the risk
management process found at
in this website
Consider that it may take up to 10 days days to complete the process and
for you to receive an eMail containing the Approval certificate;
please print the eMail and bring it to the first day of class.
Students cannot be registered as referees without completing the
risk management process.

Recertification Additional Information:
Referees must attend the class selected in the registration
process (above) and and
successfully pass a 50 question recertification test. Theres no need
to pre-register with clinic coordinators to attend a recertification
clinic once you have registered online.
Items Required at Clinic:
1. Bring your USSF Referee Renewal Information letter
2. If you dont have your USSF Referee Renewal Information letter,
please bring a USSF ID card
3. Recertification clinic costs are $55.00
4.
Bring 1 copy of your online Payment Acknowledgement
5. Referees 18 or older before January 1 of the registration year
must bring your Risk Management card.
6. Pen/pencil and paper for notes.
7. Referees may bring lunch or snacks and are expected to clean up after
themselves.
Recertification Clinic Information and Expectations:
- Only
grade 7 and 8 referees (referees with black badges) can attend
these clinics to re-certify.
- All referees are expected to arrive in advance of the posted clinic
start times.
- No admittance to the clinic 15 minutes after the posted start time.
Refereeing or playing in an indoor soccer game is not a legitimate
reason for being late or leaving early.
- Few recertification clinics will be offered this year. Do not wait
until the last minute to re-certify.
- Capacity at some clinics may be limited. Referees are seated on a
first come, first serve basis. Seats arent guaranteed, referees will
be turned away when capacity is reached.
- To obtain certification, all participants are expected to stay for the
entire clinic. NO EXCEPTIONS.
- A lunch break will be provided.

Electronic devices such as Game Boys, iPods or MP3 players arent
permitted in clinic.
- Pagers and cell phones on vibrate are permitted. Cell phones are only
to be used for making calls before, after or during breaks of the
clinic.
- Text messaging during the clinic is prohibited.
- Referees who are demonstrating conduct (ie sleeping, texting, etc)
that IS NOT conducive to the recertification clinic will be asked to
leave. The referee will be required to attend a different clinic in
its entirety to recertify.
- IT IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED THAT A REFEREE REVIEW HIS/HER LAW BOOK
PRIOR TO ATTENDING A CLINIC IN ORDER TO PASS THE 50 QUESTION
RECERTIFICATION EXAM. THE MINIMUM PASSING SCORE IS 75%.
