$60. Must be 14 to enroll. The class is 8 hours long. Class
placements is not guaranteed to persons who have not
registered to the course. You must register online to
receive a Badge.

Registration Process
1. To register for a class hold the SHIFT KEY and
click
https://www.ussoccer.info/ to open a new window and
keep on reading these instructions.
a) as USER ID use your USSF ID preceded by the letter
R
(as in Referee)
b) as Password use your lastname
2. Click Referee on left menu;
you will see a Welcome to Michigan Referee Section

then click the link Click here to apply for your

4. scroll down and click Referee box
5. disregard the Referee Grade Details
section
6. look for the Referee Clinic Schedule
Details
choose a clinic by clicking the circle at the left of the
clinic name
a lock symbol
next to
a class in the USSF website indicates that the class is full; look for a different
class
Read the Terms and Conditions and, if you agree, click
I agree to the terms and conditions
box
8. follow the instructions to make payment by credit
card
click Continue to complete the Payment

You will receive a "Referee Registration Payment
Acknowledgement" email right after your registration:
SAVE your Payment Acknowledgement email as it may be necessary
if you need to switch classes later on. Also,
please print
a copy of the Payment Acknowledgement (PA) and bring it to the class that you
registered for. If your PA shows your class information, you
are all set, otherwise contact

NOTE: The statement
in the Payment Acknowledgement
that says "Your State will review your application and approve.
Upon approval you will receive an e-mail
notification and shortly thereafter, a Referee
Packet via 1st class mail from U.S. Soccer."
does not apply to Michigan referees.
To be clear, you will not receive any "Referee Packet"
until a month
after you have completed and passed the class.
Again, SAVE (do not delete) the Payment
Acknowledgement email in case you need to switch classes.
Risk Management
Students 18 or older before January 1 will be required to complete the risk
management process found at
in this website
Consider that it may take up to 10 days days to complete the process and
for you to receive an eMail containing the Approval certificate;
please print the eMail and bring it to the first day of class.
Students cannot be registered as referees without completing the
risk management process.
Bridge Class Information and Expectations:
- Only grade 9 referees (referees with blue badges) who
are at least 14 years old on January 1 of the
recertification year, who have officiated at least one
season can attend these clinics to
upgrade to a grade 8 level referee. Referees that
missed a recertification class in November, December or
January, can take a bridge class in January through
April in place of attending a
recertification clinic to officiate the upcoming season.
- Class size is limited and fills quickly, register
early. WAITING LISTS FOR SEATS ARE NOT MAINTAINED.
- Course participants must attend both sessions at same
site, NO EXCEPTIONS. In the event of uncontrollable
scheduling issues, requests to complete courses at
another venue will require applicant to attend BOTH
sessions. Requests to switch venues may be denied due
to seating capacity. Please DO NOT apply for a class if
you are unable to attend both sessions in their
entirety. Indoor games, tournaments, practice or other
events arenʼt valid reasons for late arrival or missing
all or a portion of class.
- All students are expected to arrive in advance of the
posted clinic start times. There is no admittance to
the class 15 minutes after the posted start time.
- Student is expected to take notes and actively
participate in class.
- Electronic devices such as Game Boys, iPods or MP3
players arenʼt permitted in clinic.
- Pagers and cell phones on vibrate are permitted. Cell
phones are only to be used for making calls before,
after or during breaks of the clinic. Text messaging
during the clinic is prohibited.
- Students who are demonstrating conduct (i.e.:
sleeping, texting, etc) that IS NOT conducive to the
bridge class will be asked to leave.
- Referees are expected to clean up after themselves.
- A minimum class size of 10 students is required for
the class to take place.
- Referees must successfully pass a 100 question test
with a minimum score of 75%
Items Required at Clinic:
1. Bring your class registration confirmation

4. Pen/pencil and paper for notes.
5. Referees may bring snacks and are expected to clean
up after themselves.
